“To get lost is to learn the way” African proverb

Greetings to all amazing Humphrey Alumni that will be gathered in the gorgeous city of Zagreb in order to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship. I am especially proud of the two Humphrey Alumni I have had the privilege to work with: Marina from BiH and Mila from Croatia for putting together such an important event. I would love if I could be there with you for this event, but as I am a known traveler I will be going to Africa to visit the gorgeous countries of South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique during the month of March. I certainly will try to meet some Alumni while I am there as well.

During my Humphrey Year I changed 30 airplanes and reached different destination, with different motivations. Just last year was the year where I covered the biggest number of miles in my entire life, so far. I did in a less than a year 47.277 miles – 76.084 km As Mark Twain would say: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” The Humphrey Fellowship Program is definitely the Program that helps us to learn more about ourselves and about the World. It opens up the universe of unlimited possibilities. So enjoy the Zagreb event while discovering the world of the Humphrey Alumni!
