Vesna Travljanin, lawyer by background, also holds a master’s degree in public administration. Covering legal aspects of local self government in BiH, with special overview of EU standards, she is currently the director of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ms. Travljanin was selected to be a participant of the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program – Fulbright Exchange Activity at the University of Maryland School of Journalism, USA, specializing in media law, while serving as the executive director of the Legal Department for the Independent Newspaper and Publishing Company “Oslobodjenje.”
This opportunity enabled Ms. Travljanin to continue on the path of success upon her return to BiH, as she contributed to various judicial reform projects and public administration reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a legal advisor at the OHR (Office of the High Representative) and OSCE Mission to BiH (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe).
Under her guidance, Association has become an important and recognizable institution in the Federation BiH and BiH and has made a great contribution to the development of local self government in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With her extensive knowledge and versatile work experience, Ms. Travljanin has made a number of public speaking appearances in Europe, USA, Asia and Africa, sharing her experiences.
